ABOUT FRANK KAPLAN

Frank Kaplan is experienced, effective, analytical, hands-on, and a creative problem solver.

 

Frank Kaplan has 47 years of experience litigating a wide variety of complex business disputes since graduating from the University of Michigan Law School. He has also arbitrated and mediated a number of cases as an AAA panel arbitrator and a federal and state mediation panel member.

He has tried cases in federal and state court, jury and non-jury. He has also argued cases in various appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court. He has represented both insurers and policyholders in complex insurance coverage litigation, including coverage disputes involving or relating to the following types of policies: directors and officers (D&O) liability policies, cyber policies, commercial general liability (CGL) policies, umbrella and excess policies, employment practices policies, construction defect policies, and first-party property damage and business income policies.

He has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in federal and state securities class actions, private actions, derivative actions, broker-dealer disputes, and consumer-related disputes. He served as an adjunct professor at USC School of Law for 10 years, teaching a securities litigation course.

He has served on the California law Revision Commission (2003-2009) and has been repeatedly recognized by Chambers, Best Lawyers in Southern California, and Super Lawyers
